2:00pm – 5:00pm

Garden Room, Missouri Botanical Garden

Think for a moment about sitting on your patio listening the sound of gentle waterfall as you relax in the warm sun. Wait. That’s no waterfall…that’s your garden watering! Learn how to grow your own fruits and vegetables at home using aeroponics! You’ll use no pesticides and you can grow anything in your verticle garden that isn’t a tree or a root vegetable. The best thing? You don’t need dirt so if you don’t have a yard or you have a ton of pesky squirrels or rabbits, this will be right up your alley. What if you could grow everything you needed for a fresh salad year round?
Our speaker this month is Amy Dittman. She is the proud mom of 3 young men and the Health and Wellness Director at the YMCA.  She is a proponent of healthy eating and living. She believes that eating fresh and clean is the gateway to a healthy life. She also likes to garden and grew mostly flowers and plants because squirrels would ravage her vegetables…until she discovered the Tower Garden. Now, during the summer she enjoys fresh lettuce, peppers, strawberries, and cucumbers. And, towards the end of this coming summer, she’ll grow her own pumpkins for the holidays!
Amy is coming to tell how aeroponics works, not to sell.
As always, refreshments and door prizes appreciated. New members welcome!
