November Meeting 2014

Sunday, November 16, 2014
2:00pm – 5:00pm
Missouri Room
Missouri Botanical Garden

We will be discussing flowers, vegetable gardens, bulbs and anything else you planted or wanted to plant this year. We will also discuss the Christmas Party and we have the stepping stones available for those wishing to make one. If you were at the last meeting you are welcome to make another.
HOW DID YOUR GARDEN GROW?
Let’s share our growing knowledge! Did you try something new or did you stick to your old favorites? Do you mostly have perennials or did you plant annuals also? Did you have a vegetable garden? I know some of you have, how was your harvest? Are you planting bulbs this year? If so which kind? Do you have any special tips for planting or maintaining your bulbs? Do you want to try something new next year? Are you catalog shopping now? If you have any interesting catalogs or photos you would like to share please bring them to our meeting. This is a great time to learn from each other what worked and didn’t work in our yards.

The days are getting shorter and cooler now. Enjoy the rest of Fall and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

MEETING HIGHLIGHTS:

We had leftover supplies for the stepping stones so those that were unable to attend last month’s meeting made their stones at this meeting. This month’s stones were abstract in design. It’s amazing how everyone basically did the same thing but all of the stones turned out very different. They all look wonderful!!

We also discussed our gardens and plans to improve them next year. Gay brought several catalogs she uses. Hopefully we all gained a little knowledge for next year.

October Meeting 2014:

Sunday, October 19, 2014
2:00pm – 5:00pm
Botanical Room, MBG

For our first meeting this fall we are going to decorate stepping stones. We will be using cut pieces of stained glass. If anyone has an extra pair of nippers for cutting glass into smaller pieces please bring them. Also if you would like to embellish your stone with other items please feel free to bring them along with your creative ideas.

If time allows we will take a walk through the Garden when we finish our stepping stones. The Garden should be especially beautiful this time of year!
